- PRAYER NEEDS: Individuals and families may choose to have their names placed on the public and/or private prayer lists. The names on the public prayer list are included during the Prayers of the People during worship on Sunday and in the bulletin. Peter’s Prayer Quilt members spquilt@stpetes.net pray for the people on the private list. Names are listed for four weeks. If you would like someone to remain on our list, please send us an update every 4 weeks.
NEW WAYS TO PRAY! We have been doing a lot of praying in new ways this year. Consider joining us or making use of any, or all, of the opportunities below –
- Sweet Hour of Prayer every Wednesday at 10:30 with seven of us regularly gathering.
- Using our new Prayer Cards on the first Sunday during prayers of the people.
- Turning the altar in the Chapel into our Prayer Altar, covered with new prayer requests.
- The Vestry is incorporating praying together into our Strategic Plan and into Vestry meetings.
- And the latest: Gathering an intercessor team to pray for people in-person after church on Sundays. Once the crowd has left the Nave, they’d be happy to meet with you discreetly one-on-one to pray with you.

WE NEED YOU – Please remember to take pictures at any activities, meetings, dinners or ministry events we are doing here at St. Peter’s for our social media pages! ALTAR GUILD – Please consider serving with the group of ladies who have been very short-handed in the previous months. Our duties are light when we only need to serve once a month. (Saturday morning: 1-2 hrs., Sunday morning: 20 min. before the 9:30 am service, and after the service removing altar items and putting them away). You will always have a partner who will work right along with you.
Please think about this and pray along with us that we can welcome some new members. Feel free to ask questions from one of the people you see serving each week or call Karen Wilson 540-533-0528.
MT. CALVARY WOMEN’S GUILD MEETING – Our next meeting is this Monday, September 9, 2026, at 10:00 am, at St. Peter’s in McCray Hall. The readings that we will discuss are Jeremiah 47-52, Lamentations 1-5, Ezekiel 1-12, Tiitus 1-3, Philemon 1, Hebrews 1-7, Psalms 85-105, Proverbs 22. Please join us and bring a friend!
MT. CALVARY WOMEN’S GUILD PRAYER SESSION – We have started a Pop-up prayer session on the first Saturday of the month. All are welcome, you don’t need to be a member of the guild or St. Peter’s. We will meet on Saturday, October 3, 2026, 10:00am – noon at the home of Nancy Potter, 20725 St. Louis Rd, Purcellville, VA 20132 Her phone # (703) 674-8929.
WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP – Please joins us on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in McCray Hall as we host a Bridal Shower for our own Lauren Dennedy. LEARNING
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY – Sunday School classes will begin on September 13, 2026. Register on our website at https://stpetes.net/children/ or reach out to Kathleen Voss at (703) 409-2314.
PERSON OF JESUS – Do you want to be more like Jesus? The Person of Jesus study introduces a Jesus who is so personal and so rich in love that you want to know him better. The POJ study is designed in an interactive format that lets participants process a fresh way of looking at Jesus’ life. Starting on September 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the library, we will study the third unit – Dependence. This unit highlights Jesus’ dependence on his Father. That dependence was rooted in a deep understanding of Scripture and a life of prayer. This dependence shaped all his relationships and empowered Jesus to move toward others, intruding into their lives as needed. This dependence also empowered him to say no to others, even if it meant disappointing them. Learning from Jesus and then following his example will help us navigate our own relationships as well.
