  • For those who have served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other conflicts and are suffering from posttraumatic stress
  • For our Federal, State, & Local Police Officers and Loudoun Valley Fire and Rescue Departments

For the special needs and concerns of this congregation, especially for Nancy Dillon, Gail Hunt, Steve Koss, Kathy Johnson, Becky Loker, Mike Muihlbauer, Marsha Price, Randy Stoutenburgh, Karen Stunkel, Heather Voss-Andberg, Erica Wanis, Barbara Kuhler, Gwen Hill, Rick Smith, Margaret Thomas, Karen Wilson, Dorothy, Debra, Mark Benson and all those who suffer from any grief or trouble.

  • PRAYER NEEDS: Individuals and families may choose to have their names placed on the public and/or private prayer lists. The names on the public prayer list are included during the Prayers of the People during worship on Sunday and in the bulletin. Peter’s Prayer Quilt members spquilt@stpetes.net pray for the people on the private list.  Names are listed for four weeks. If you would like someone to remain on our list, please send us an update every 4 weeks.

NEW WAYS TO PRAY!  We have been doing a lot of praying in new ways this year. Consider joining us or making use of any, or all, of the opportunities below –

  • Sweet Hour of Prayer every Wednesday at 10:30 with seven of us regularly gathering.
  • Using our new Prayer Cards on the first Sunday during prayers of the people.
  • Turning the altar in the Chapel into our Prayer Altar, covered with new prayer requests.
  • The Vestry is incorporating praying together into our Strategic Plan and into Vestry meetings.
  • And the latest: Gathering an intercessor team to pray for people in-person after church on Sundays. Once the crowd has left the Nave, they’d be happy to meet with you discreetly one-on-one to pray with you.

ALTAR GUILD – Please consider serving with the group of ladies who have been very short-handed in the previous months.  Our duties are light when we only need to serve once a month. (Saturday morning: 1-2 hrs., Sunday morning: 20 min. before the 9:30 am service, and after the service removing altar items and putting them away). You will always have a partner who will work right along with you.

Please think about this and pray along with us that we can welcome some new members. Feel free to ask questions from one of the people you see serving each week or call Karen Wilson 540-533-0528.

WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP – This month’s Women’s Fellowship will be a bit different. We often see the name John Champe, but how much do we really know about him? The Sons of the American Revolution are holding a commemoration for Sgt. Major John Champe on Sunday, April 19th, at 2:00 PM at the John Champe Memorial off Champe Ford Rd in Middleburg. We can meet at the church at 1:00 PM to carpool, or you can meet us directly at the memorial at 1:45 PM. Since this is an outdoor event, please bring a chair and wear comfortable walking shoes. Afterward, anyone interested is welcome to join us for a glass of wine at Cana Winery, located right across the street. In the event of rain, we plan to go out for lunch after church and potentially visit the winery.

CALVARY WOMEN’S GUILD MEETING – Our next meeting is this Monday, April 20, at 10:00 am, at St. Peter’s in McCray Hall. The readings that we will discuss are Exodus 27-40; Leviticus 1-16; Matthew 26-28; Mark 1-7; Psalm 32-41; & Proverbs 12-13. Please join us and bring a friend!

2026 VESTRY ELECTIONS – will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, after the 9:30 a.m. service.  The Eligible Voter list will be posted on the bulletin board in McCray Hall.  Nominations are open.  Contact Deana Czaban, Sr. Warden or Dell Nunaley, Jr. Warden if interested.

If you are new here at St Peter’s, you know that starting new is hard to do. Do you have questions about living as a Christian or the distinctive way we do it here at St. Peter’s?  For four weeks we will help you explore what we are about here at St Peter’s and how we live and work together as a congregation. ADULT FORMATION: FIGHT FOR SOULS – Share a meal, share the gospel. If you desire to do what Jesus says, consider joining the Fight for Souls group!

“Aware that His disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, ‘Does this offend you?  What if you see the Son of Man ascend to where He was before!  The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing.  The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.  Yet there are some of you who do not believe.’  For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray Him.  He went on to say, ‘This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless the Father has enabled Him.’”  John 7:61-65

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”  2Timothy 1:6-7

“Abraham believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness.”  Gen. 15:6

“No man can put on the robes of Christ’s righteousness till he has taken off his own.”   – Charles Spurgeon

Next meeting will be May 14, 2026 at 4:00 pm at the Novak House

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, MAY 7, 2026, PRAY ‘ROUND THE CROSS – THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY  – Pres. Truman established an annual National Day of Prayer in 1952. He proclaimed July 4th, 1952, as the first. In 1988 Pres. Reagan amended the law setting the first Thursday in May as the designated date for the National Day of Prayer. Each year the president signs a proclamation encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. This year’s theme is “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations”.
