Saint Peter's is a Church for the entire family! We believe that every child is a gift created in God's image! By teaching us patience, selflessness and love, children help us as adults to better reflect the life of Jesus Christ. Our goal at Saint Peter's is to help parents in sharing the faith with their children. We have developed a robust program for children and young people of all ages and our dedicated teachers and staff are grateful for the opportunity to lead your children in this journey!
Nursery care is available for children under 4 years of age. The nurseries, located downstairs in the Sunday School wing, are staffed by professional caregivers on Sunday mornings from 7:45 am until 12:15 pm - during both services and during Formation Classes between the services.
Sunday School (PK - 8th Grade)
Sundays, 9:30 - 10:15 AM - September 11, 2016 - May 21, 2017.
Sunday School does not occur on the following dates during the 2016-2017 school year: October 2, November 6 & 27, December 25, January 1, February 19, April 16.
We use Weaving God’s Promises as our curriculum for PK-5th grade. This three-year program covers the basic Bible stories every Christian should know; along with church history, seasons of the church year, Episcopal Church traditions, and the sacraments of Baptism and the Holy Eucharist. It helps children practice their faith in prayer and action.
Each lesson is presented in an age appropriate way so your child leaves class with the whole story. Children will hear messages from the Old and New Testament.
Each lesson includes a question and answer session to help clarify and draw from the children what they learned from the story. The parents’ job is important. We hope that you take the time to let your child share their journey with you! What they learn as children they will hold in their hearts and draw from what they remember when they are adults.
Our dedicated teachers and staff are grateful for the opportunity to lead your children in this journey as we learn to weave God’s promises into our lives
Each child is unique, each class is different. They are a “work in progress” and the reward will be due to your support and prayers
We use the Rite-13 curriculum for students in 6th -8th grade.
This ministry runs on volunteer effort. Please be on the “look- out” for opportunities to share in your child’s Christian education. Sunday School Teachers & Aides, Children’s Chapel Leaders, Vacation Bible School Teachers and Guides are just a few of the areas that require helping hands and big hearts! Any time that you are able to give is invaluable. Training is provided.
