DOING

JOIN ST. PETE’S WORSHIP TEAM!

  • Ushers are one of the first smiling faces you see when you come to church. They are one of the first contacts for newcomers, welcoming them, assisting them in finding seats, and offering directions to coffee hour, restrooms, & nursery.  Ushers also assist with distributing bulletins, collecting the offering, & guiding worshipers to the communion rail.  Contact:  Mark Baker or Tom Coate
  • Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs) are members of the laity (i.e., non-ordained persons) who assist the priest during the Eucharist by serving the consecrated wine to the people.    Contact:  Fr. Tom or Linda Stoutenburgh

To serve as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at St. Peter’s, you need to:

  • be at least 16 years old
  • be a baptized & confirmed member of the parish
  • apply for a license from the Bishop (applications available in church office)
  • receive LEM instruction from the Rector or the Rector’s designee
  • Acolytes are helpers who assist the priest, performing a number of important functions before, during, and at the close of the liturgy.  Children above 5th grade are eligible to serve. We also have an adult acolyte team.  Contact Dan LaPre

DADS, IT'S TIME FOR A DATE NIGHT WITH YOUR DAUGHTER! And what better opportunity is there than Valentine’s?!  This year, since the feast of St. Valentine’s coincides with Ash Wednesday... which isn't THE BEST day for a dance party...St. Peter's is hosting the dance on Saturday Feb 3, in partnership with Good Shepherd School.  Come, be part of the fun!  Suggested attire for girls is party wear with comfortable shoes. For men, shirt and tie. All fathers and daughters Kindergarten age and up are invited.  Saturday, February 3, from 6:30-9pm, in McCray Hall.  Contact:  Tait Simmons

YOUTH SNOW TUBING:  We'll be driving up to Whitetail Resort for an afternoon of snow tubing for ~2 hours then getting pizza on our way back. We will need some chaperones for this one - if you are available and able to drive, please let me know ASAP. When: Saturday, Feb. 10.  Meet at St. Pete’s at 1pm and we’ll return about 7:30pm.  Cost: $30 per person + money for dinner ($10-15). Contact: Jon Coate

TOL FOOD PANTRY – Our contribution in December totaled 150 lbs.  The following items are especially needed: pasta, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, and cereal.
