ADULT FORMATION CLASS: Sunday mornings, 9:30am, September 24-November 19. Led by Jaqueline Whalen in McCray Hall. As part of the completion of my Masters degree in Theological Studies, I am teaching a class this fall beginning September 24I am looking for willing participants! Please join me in exploring "A recipe for Discipleship found in the Parables." I would love to share some of what I have learned through my studies at Regent University. I used to be afraid to tackle any parable. They all seemed confusing and some of them just made no sense to me. However, I have found some investigative tools that are truly helpful as you read through the Scriptures and it has made my study of Scripture so much more rewarding. Let's explore together what the parables have to teach us about our personal path of discipleship. I am looking forward to a lively class with lots of great discussion!

PIZZA WITH THE PASTOR—St. Peter’s 101: Do you have questions about living as a Christian or the distinctive way we do it here at St. Peter’s? We will offer our “Path In” to the life of St Peter’s on Sunday afternoons from 12:30-2pm in McCray Hall. For five weeks we will help you explore what we are about here at St Peter’s and how we live and work together as a congregation. (September 24, Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22) Join us!

CHRISTIANITY EXPLORED: What’s the best news you have ever heard? We all get one life to live and deep down we’re all asking the same question – what’s it all about? Christianity Explored gives you time and space to think through who Jesus is and why it matters. Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm, at Trillium Gathering Building, 18915 Lincoln Rd., Purcellville. Questions? Contact Dell Nunaley or visit www.stpetes.net .

Daryl recently wrote concerning his visit: "I served as a youth pastor and pastor for 20 years and have preached close to 1000 sermons, but I have never had a message so strong in my heart as the one I will be sharing during this trip." Hope to see you there! --Bob Loker

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS on the Feast of St. Francis – Next Sunday, October 1st, St. Peter’s will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis with a special outdoor liturgy at 10:30am (weather permitting) at which we will be joined by our furry, feathery, squirmy and scaly friends. St. Francis is well known, among many other things, for his devotion to animals. If you share Francis' love for all God's creatures, bring them to this liturgy for a special blessing and to express how much we are blessed by them. All creatures great and small are invited.
