TREASURER’S CORNER – Tanya Matthews

SUMMER GIVING: The thing I love about summer is the chance to change-up the routine. It frees us from some of the “regular responsibilities” we carry through most of the year. Ah, vacation! Ah, lazy days! Ah, slower pace! Ah, but there’s a downside!

When summer comes, giving declines on Sundays. It seems that when our routines change, our giving patterns do too. St. Peter’s budget suffers in the summer as a result and it can be nerve-wracking trying to catch up in the fall.   Friends, you can help break this cycle!

One way is by upgrading your giving method. Give online! Here are three easy ways to give online:

1.         Make a one-time, or recurring gift at give.stpetes.net or use the QR code on pew card in front of you.

2.         Set up automatic bill-pay on your bank’s website, or mobile app.

3.         Call Diane Adams, our bookkeeper, at (540) 338-7307 or email her at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

This will make the act of giving easier for you, and it will also provide St. Peter’s with a dependable stream of revenue to help us stay on target with our budget (weekly updates posted in the St. Pete’s Weekly.) We’ve provided laminated pew cards for our online givers to place in the plate during the Offertory, in lieu of tithe envelopes. Thanks! -- Fr. Tom
