  • PRAYER NEEDS: Individuals and families may choose to have their names placed on the public and/or private prayer lists. The names on the public prayer list are included during the Prayers of the People during worship on Sunday and in the bulletin. Peter’s Prayer Quilt members spquilt@stpetes.net pray for the people on the private list.  Names are listed for four weeks. If you would like someone to remain on our list, please send us an update every 4 weeks.

NEW WAYS TO PRAY!  We have been doing a lot of praying in new ways this year. Consider joining us or making use of any, or all, of the opportunities below –

  • Sweet Hour of Prayer every Wednesday at 10:30 with seven of us regularly gathering.
  • Using our new Prayer Cards on the first Sunday during prayers of the people.
  • Turning the altar in the Chapel into our Prayer Altar, covered with new prayer requests.
  • The Vestry is incorporating praying together into our Strategic Plan and into Vestry meetings.
  • And the latest: Gathering an intercessor team to pray for people in-person after church on Sundays. Once the crowd has left the Nave, they’d be happy to meet with you discreetly one-on-one to pray with you.

(Saturday morning: 1-2 hrs., Sunday morning: 20 min. before the 9:30 am service, and after the service removing altar items and putting them away). You will always have a partner who will work right along with you. Please think about this and pray along with us that we can welcome some new members. Feel free to ask questions from one of the people you see serving each week or call Karen Wilson (540) 533-0528.

PETER’S – We’re hoping you can join us Saturday, May 2nd, as the Men’s Breakfast Group meets in McCray Hall at 7:00 for a hearty breakfast and good fellowship; and at 7:30, a time of presentation and discussion amongst those in attendance. This month we’ll have a new speaker from our group with subject matter to be determined.  Please come and bring a friend for company as we explore together!  Becoming the men God created us to be!

2026 VESTRY ELECTIONS – will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, after the 9:30 am service.  The Eligible Voter list will be posted on the bulletin board in McCray Hall.  Nominations are open. Please check to see if your name is on the list.   Contact Deana Czaban, Sr. Warden or Dell Nunaley, Jr. Warden if interested in being on the Vestry.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, MAY 7, 2026 – The National Day of Prayer annual observance is designated by the U.S. Congress and held on the 1st Thursday of May. People of all faiths are asked to come together and pray for our nation. Mt. Calvary Guild is advertising this wonderful event at St. Peter’s. This year we will be Praying ‘Round the Cross at 5:30 pm. Bring a friend and come meet with us out front: on your way home from work, after or before supper, whatever you are doing at 5:30.  Take a few minutes out of your day to thank God for the blessings of America and ask his protecting hand over our country.

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”  Luke 19:10

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned and therefore, as through one man’s offense judgement came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.  And now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 5:12, 18; 6:22-23

“He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; and His own righteousness, it sustained Him.  In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them and carried them all the days of old.  You shall know that I, the Lord, am you Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”     Is. 59:16; 63:9; 60:16

By Grace alone (Sola Gratia)                                                                                                                                                                                    Through faith alone (Sola Fide)                                                                                                                                                                                                             In Christ alone (Sola Christus)                                                                                                                                                                            According to Scripture alone (Sola Scriptura)                                                                                                                                                For God’s glory alone (Soli Deo Gloria)
