PRAYER NEEDS: Individuals and families may choose to have their names placed on the public and/or private prayer lists. The names on the public prayer list are included during the Prayers of the People during worship on Sunday and in the bulletin.  St. Peter’s Prayer Quilt members spquilt@stpetes.net pray for the people on the private list.  Names are listed for four weeks. If you would like someone to remain on our list, please send us an update every 4 weeks.

NEW WAYS TO PRAY!  We have been doing a lot of praying in new ways this year. Consider joining us or making use of any, or all, of the opportunities below –

  • Sweet Hour of Prayer every Wednesday at 10:30 with seven of us regularly gathering.
  • Using our new Prayer Cards on the first Sunday during prayers of the people.
  • Turning the altar in the Chapel into our Prayer Altar, covered with new prayer requests.
  • The Vestry is incorporating praying together into our Strategic Plan and into Vestry meetings.
  • And the latest: Gathering an intercessor team to pray for people in-person after church on Sundays. Once the crowd has left the Nave, they’d be happy to meet with you discreetly one-on-one to pray with you.

ALTAR GUILD – Please consider serving with the group of ladies who have been very short-handed in the previous months.  Our duties are light when we only need to serve once a month. (Saturday morning: 1-2 hrs., Sunday morning: 20 min. before the 9:30 am service, and after the service removing altar items and putting them away). You will always have a partner who will work right along with you.

Projects will include new posts to be added in front for banners (post diggers are provided), installing gutter guards on a small section of the roof, and deep cleaning inside. All hands are appreciated and lunch will be provided.

MISSION TRIP TO LIBERIA – As we prepare to send Bob Loker, Maggie Snyder, Gary Simpson, and Paula Simpson to Liberia this month, we are uniquely positioned to answer Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples”. Beyond our presence and prayers, we have a critical opportunity to support St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Monrovia, Michael Sie’s vibrant parish that serves as a spiritual anchor for its community. The lack of reliable electricity often halts its vital ministry and outreach. We are therefore launching a plea for additional funds to provide a much-needed generator. This equipment will ensure that the light of the Gospel and the music of the parish remain steady, even when the national power grid fails. Please consider a financial offering to help us secure this essential resource for our dear friends in Christ.  Please make checks out to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and write LIBERIA in the memo. Thank you all for your continued support & generosity. The prayer calendar is included at the back of the bulletin. Please bring it home and continue to pray for the Team as they prepare and embark on their mission.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, MAY 7, 2026, PRAY ‘ROUND THE CROSS – THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY  – Pres. Truman established an annual National Day of Prayer in 1952. He proclaimed July 4th, 1952, as the first. In 1988 Pres. Reagan amended the law setting the first Thursday in May as the designated date for the National Day of Prayer. Each year the president signs a proclamation encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. This year’s theme is “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations”. Drawing inspiration from 1 Chronicles 16:24. Mt. Calvary Guild is promoting this event out front under the cross.  We will stand on the ½ circle, Pray for our Nation, leaders, military and all those who keep us safe. Please plan to join us at 5:30pm for this special event. Stop on your way home from work, before dinner, whatever you are doing. Take a few minutes out of your day to thank God for the blessings of America and ask his protecting hand over our country.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”  Gal. 5:22

“Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever.  They are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendor.”  Is. 60:21

“When the spirit bears fruit in our lives, it can affect how others spend their eternity.”         Dayna Mayer
