St. Peter’s Prayer Quilt members spquilt@stpetes.net pray for the people on the private list. Names are listed for four weeks. If you would like someone to remain on our list, please send us an update every 4 weeks.
NEW WAYS TO PRAY! We have been doing a lot of praying in new ways this year. Consider joining us or making use of any, or all, of the opportunities below –
- Sweet Hour of Prayer every Wednesday at 10:30 with seven of us regularly gathering.
- Using our new Prayer Cards on the first Sunday during prayers of the people.
- Turning the altar in the Chapel into our Prayer Altar, covered with new prayer requests.
- The Vestry is incorporating praying together into our Strategic Plan and into Vestry meetings.
- And the latest: Gathering an intercessor team to pray for people in-person after church on Sundays. Once the crowd has left the Nave, they’d be happy to meet with you discreetly one-on-one to pray with you.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD – St. Peter’s will partner with Samaritans Purse this year in supporting Operation Christmas Child. We will hand out and collect shoeboxes between October 19th thru November 23rd. We will also be partnering with KCPC. How many Shoeboxes do you think we can fill?
Since the inception of Operation Christmas Child in 1993, over 198 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. Of those who received a shoebox, 14.9 million decided to accept Jesus as their Savior. We look forward to continuing to help children learn about the love of Jesus through this ministry with the hopes of many more making the life-changing decision. You will find Shoebox Gift Suggestion lists on the table in the foyer. In addition, Samaritan’s Purse requests you donate $10/box to cover shipping and other project costs. Contact Darla Voss at (609) 906-0630 with questions. You can also find more information on the Samaritan’s Purse website at https://samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/mission-and-history/

LEARNING
PERSON OF JESUS – Do you want to be more like Jesus? The Person of Jesus study introduces a Jesus who is so personal and so rich in love that you want to know him better. The POJ study is designed in an interactive format that lets participants process a fresh way of looking at Jesus’ life every Sunday at 11:00 am. The POJ camps out in the gospels, so it’s easy to put yourself in the scene. You can feel Jesus’ love as he interacts with people no one else is interested in. “That’s the kind of love that can change marriages and friendships. Every person can benefit from learning to love better, and along the way they can learn that they are loved completely and perfectly.” (Brian Morgan, see Jesus’ missionary). Questions? Contact Anne Schultz – 703-727-6652
THURSDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY – Next Step Community Bible Study meets on Thursday nights from 6:30-8-00 pm in the library.
ADULT FORMATION: FIGHT FOR SOULS – Share a meal, share the gospel. If you desire to do what Jesus says, consider joining the Fight for Souls group!
“Jesus answered and said to them, ‘You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power or God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” Mt. 22: 29-32
“Eternal life is given to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but rather obey unrighteousness – to them is given indignation and wrath.” Rom. 2:7-8
“Then He said, ‘Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.’ Moreover He said, ‘I am the God of your father – the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.”
“Listen to counsel and receive instruction that you may be wise in your latter days. -Pr. 19:20
