PRAYER NEEDS: Individuals and families may choose to have their names placed on the public and/or private prayer lists. The names on the public prayer list are included during the Prayers of the People during worship on Sunday and in the bulletin.  St. Peter’s Prayer Quilt members spquilt@stpetes.net pray for the people on the private list.  Names are listed for four weeks. If you would like someone to remain on our list, please send us an update every 4 weeks.

NEW WAYS TO PRAY!  We have been doing a lot of praying in new ways this year. Consider joining us or making use of any, or all, of the opportunities below –

  • Sweet Hour of Prayer every Wednesday at 10:30 with seven of us regularly gathering.
  • Using our new Prayer Cards on the first Sunday during prayers of the people.
  • Turning the altar in the Chapel into our Prayer Altar, covered with new prayer requests.
  • The Vestry is incorporating praying together into our Strategic Plan and into Vestry meetings.
  • And the latest: Gathering an intercessor team to pray for people in-person after church on Sundays. Once the crowd has left the Nave, they’d be happy to meet with you discreetly one-on-one to pray with you.

FIGHT FOR SOULS: SHARING THE WORD – “Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:  and the rain descended, the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.  But everyone who hears these sayings of mine and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:  and the rain descended, the floods cam, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it fell.  And great was its fall.” -Matthew 7:24-27

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes, first for the Jew and then for the Gentile.  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’”  Rom. 1:16-17

“These are the things you are to do:  Speak the truth to each other and render true and sound judgement in our courts.”  -Zechariah 8:16

“The chief danger of the 20th century will be religion without the Holy Spirit, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, politics without God, and heaven without hell.”  -William Booth

The next meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. on July 13, 2025 at the Novak House.

New course: Exploring Your Faith

Our new Bishop, Mark Stevenson, is coming September 28 for his first visitation with us.  I am excited.  I have found much to be impressed with in him, and I think you will too.

His coming is an opportunity for many of us to “take the next step” in your journey with Jesus.

  • If you were baptized as a small child and are now ready (at 15-16 years old) to speak for yourself and publicly own your faith in Jesus.
  • If you came to St. Peter’s from another Christian tradition and would like to take the plunge with us in the Anglican Communion,
  • If you’ve been away from Christian faith and community for some time but have returned and are now renewing your connection.

The Bishop will formally confirm, receive and renew you!

If you want to take that step, we need to start preparing. Join us Sunday, June 22, 11:15 am, in the Library.

  • Part I – Creed. What do Christians believe?  And why?  A 4-part study (June 29 with lunch, July 6, 13, 20) of the Church’s foundational statement of faith, the Nicene Creed, explores what we believe.
  • Part II – Covenant.  What do Christians DO?  And why?  A 4-part study (Jul 27 with lunch, Aug 3, 10, 17) of the Baptismal Covenant, the liturgical act of commitment, which defines our path of discipleship.
  • Part III – Anglican Way. You ARE who you “hang” with.  The people of St. Peter’s are part of a global communion of churches 80 million strong, following Jesus in Britain and beyond since the 2nd century.  We’ll discuss what that means for us (Aug 24 with lunch, Sept 7, 14,21)
